DRA|W EIRE
Introduction to DRA|W Eire
DRA|W Eire is an offshoot of DRA|W. Emerging from the collaboration of J | O Órla Bates and Joanna Leah and the development of drawing residencies with J | O, Mary-Ruth Walsh and Felicity Clear as part of ‘Drawing Out Hilbre’, Liverpool Independents Biennial. DRA|W Eire extends the working groups ethos of collaboration and critical engagement into an Irish context. Further collaborations with Wexford Arts Centre, Catherine Bowe and Drawing De-centred with Keira O’Toole, Mary-Ruth Walsh and Felicity Clear, are focused initiatives to develop contemporary drawing practice and research through dialogue, exhibition, and exchange. The project is led in Wexford by Órla Bates, fostering new intersections between Irish and UK-based drawing communities and expanding the field of drawing as both a radical and reflective practice.
